British National Formulary August 2025 Update

This update contains 3 significant changes, 4 new monographs and 1 new preparation.

Significant Changes:

• Apixaban: update to structure of dosing and renal impairment dose adjustments for prophylaxis of stroke and systemic embolism in non-valvular atrial fibrillation and at least one risk factor.
• COVID-19: update to guidance for symptomatic management of cough, and anxiety and agitation.
• Malaria, treatment: updated guidance.

New Monographs:

• Lazcluze® [lazertinib].
• Nemluvio® [nemolizumab].
• Piperaquine phosphate with artenimol.
• Sunlenca® [lenacapavir].

 

New Preparations: Tecentriq® solution for injection [atezolizumab].
